If you want to know more about chicken coop designs, then this article is going to help you out. In particular, we're going talk about finding the right design, why safety is so important, and where to find designs online. By the time you have finished reading this article, you'll be ready to make your own chicken coop.

Let's start by looking at how to find the right design. As you may already know, chicken coops can come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. You'll need to make some decisions about what type of coop you want to build. Do you want a movable coop? These are very easy to clean and maintain, and you can move them when needed.

Perhaps you want a larger coop for a larger backyard? This means you'll have plenty of perching space for your birds, which means you can keep more. But it also takes up more room.

Another thing to consider is the safety of your chicken coop. It's all too easy to opt for a free design to work from, but often these designs haven't fully taken safety into account. Your coop needs to protect your chickens from many predators, such as foxes, dogs, snakes and many more. It's important that you have a concrete foundation, or embed chicken wire around 16 inches into the ground to stop predators from digging into the coup.

So where's the best place to find these chicken coop designs? When I started out building my chicken coop, I searched local bookstores, but didn't have much success. Then I tried searching online and using free designs, but many of them were unreliable and shoddy at best. Eventually, I spent a few bucks on a high quality blueprint, which was fully illustrated and step by step. It was well worth it.
