By: Amy M Todd

When getting ready for a trip, many ladies make their last visit before departure the beauty salon. Making sure that they have the perfect hair and nails is very important as it will have to last the weekend, or week, or longer.

However, once arriving at the destination, keeping the perfect coif may be more difficult than anticipated. Upon arrival, the first thing most guests want to do is "freshen up" and this means a shower. While it may make your body rejuvenated, it will reek havoc on your hair, unless of course you have the foresight to bring a shower cap, or you are lucky enough to stay at an establishment that provides one to you along with the other, usual hotel amenities.

You will like expect to have shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath gel, and body soap provided to you in your room, but it is questionable as to whether you will receive a shower cap. This is the time that all your hard work packing will pay off. By making sure you remembered to pack your cap, you will be able to freshen up and keep your perfect hair in tact for the rest of the vacation.

Many hotels and Bed and Breakfasts do provide a shower cap in the room, and many more will provide one upon request. Many lines of hotel amenities carry a shower cap, such as Nourish, ProTerra, and Aromae Botanicals. If you have not visited a hotel or Bed and Breakfast before, it is acceptable to give them a call before you leave home to check which amenities will be provided for you upon arrival.

If the establishment does not provide a one, it is critical that you bring one. Purchasing disposable non-branded shower caps is an inexpensive way to make sure that you always have one with you. These non-branded shower caps are often used in hotels and B & B's when they use a line of amenities that does not have a cap, yet they wish to provide one for their guests. But they are perfect for individuals too, as a traveler can stock-up and bring one or two shower caps on vacation and then dispose of them before they return - a quick, easy, inexpensive way to maintain your vacation hairstyle.
